Larry Steinberg is an attorney specializing in direct selling and network marketing since 2007 when he was tapped to represent BurnLounge as lead counsel in its seven year struggle against the Federal Trade Commission. A partner in the Los Angeles-based law firm of Buchalter Nemer, Larry is chair of the firm’s Multi-Level Marketing Practice Group. As the only attorney to actually go to trial against the FTC in a “pyramid lawsuit” in more than fifteen years, Larry has gained an unparalleled understanding of the current regulatory environment and how the FTC and state and local regulators view issues such as retail sales, products, pyramid analysis, and alleged false and misleading income claims. Larry is experienced in counseling direct sales companies in connection with a wide variety of issues including the discipline and termination of distributors, cross-marketing and improper solicitation, business development agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets, trademark and copyright infringement, and unfair competition. He is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School.
