Janet Weil

Janet Weil is an experienced General Counsel, compliance officer and executive leader with more than 25 years of experience in the direct sales industry. Janet serves as the General Counsel for the Sunrider Corporation and leads the Sunrider legal team providing legal and compliance support for the Sunrider global direct selling business, manufacturing, hotels, real estate, family office and the Chen art collection and museum. Prior to joining Sunrider Janet served as the Associate general Counsel at Plexus Worldwide, LLC.

 

Janet moved to Texas in 2010 to serve as General Counsel for a direct sales company having already served as General Counsel to 2 direct sales companies headquartered in in Europe and practiced corporate law in London with both Baker McKenzie, LLP and Taylor Wessing, LLP, having trained as a solicitor at Hogan Lovells, LLP.

Janet earned a bachelor’s degree in law with honors at the University of London, Queen Mary College and took solicitors final exams at the Law Society of England and Wales College of Law in London. 

 

She is admitted to practice in England and Wales and in New York in addition to being accredited as inhouse counsel by the Association of Corporate Counsel. 

 

She has been recognized twice as a finalist in the D Magazine corporate counsel awards for outstanding General Counsels in Dallas and in 2019 was recognized by the National Diversity Council as one of the top 25 GCs in DFW for leadership in diversity and inclusion.

Having a keen interest in continued professional development last year Janet completed her masters in dispute resolution at Pepperdine University and applies that learning to managing conflict resolution in business organizations.
In her spare time Janet is a committed foster mom and volunteer for the DFW Labrador Retriever Rescue Club.
